Mr. J. NSENGIYUMVA: Founder & Managing Director of CS NJEMA Ltd
Mr. Jacques is the Founder & Managing Director of CS NJEMA Ltd, a leading company specializing in organic fertilizer production through sustainable waste recycling and nutrient recovery. With over a decade of experience in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), regulatory compliance, & pollution control, he has established himself as a recognized leader in environmental governance, both in Rwanda and internationally.
He holds an MSc in Environmental Science & Technology from UNESCO-IHE, Delft, specializing in Water Quality Management. He also completed Postgraduate Studies in Emotional Intelligence & Leadership at George Mason University, & earned a BSc in Biochemistry from Kigali Institute of Education. In recognition of his significant contributions to environmental sustainability & community development, he was honored with the Global Community Leader Fellowship Award by the U.S. Department of State.
Mr. NSENGIYUMVA has worked extensively with international organizations, including the World Bank, UNDP, UNEP, & UNIDO, contributing to global sustainability initiatives. His innovative work in Organic Fertilizer Production & Wastewater Treatment has led to the granting of Patent Rights for eco-friendly technologies in these fields, further solidifying his reputation as a pioneer in sustainable environmental practices. As part of his ongoing commitment to sustainability, he has developed and implemented community-tailored solutions across Rwanda, focusing on wastewater recycling in high-pollution areas. His efforts extend to the recovery of nutrients from human waste across Rwanda’s prison system, transforming it into organic fertilizer for the restoration of degraded soils.
In his previous role as Lead Enforcement & Compliance Expert at the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA), He played a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance & driving environmental sustainability across multiple sectors. His leadership helped reinforce Rwanda’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development. Mr. Jacques is also an active academic contributor who served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK) & has participated in various research projects at institutions such as the University of Rwanda (UR/CST) & the University of Texas at San Antonio (UT/San Antonio College). His academic focus includes Sustainable Waste Management, Renewable Energy, and Environmental Management System & Integrated Farming.
Mr. Jacques has participated in numerous international conferences and workshops on environmental sustainability, including events at British Columbia University (Canada), Centre for Science & Environment (India), and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Change (Germany). He has also received specialized training in wastewater treatment in Texas (USA), waste management in South Korea, and environmental management in China. His additional training includes social responsibility in environmental assessment (Rwanda), PCBs testing (Morocco), and wetland restoration (Belgium). These experiences have further enhanced his expertise in sustainable practices and eco-friendly leadership.
As the Founder & Managing Director of CS NJEMA Ltd, Jacques combines his passion for environmental stewardship with his entrepreneurial vision, spearheading innovations in Waste Management, Organic Fertilizer Production, and Sustainable Farming. His work continues to make a lasting, positive impact on both the environment and the communities he serves, earning him widespread respect both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Ikechi Agbugba is a profound food & agro economist with wide experiences in agriculture, agribusiness, economics of agriculture, project management, entrepreneurship development, food security, technology in agriculture (such as blockchain, AI and IOTs), among other areas. His career includes impactful project proposals in South African communities aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. He has consulted for the UN’s International Organisation for Migration, implementing horticulture and agricultural safety strategies in Nigeria.
Dr. Agbugba earned his PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 2014, and pursued a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa. His research focused on smallholder collaborations with the Agricultural Research Council and South African universities under the NUFFIC Project. He has been an external examiner for several prestigious institutions and serves as a National Research Foundation Scholar, evaluating research outputs in Agricultural Economics.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting sustainable development, particularly in the areas of agribusiness, environmental conservation, and organic farming.

He leverages his extensive network and experience to drive the company’s mission of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing our environment and agriculture.
